GreenSense

GreenSense

GreenSense is Watt Stopper/Legrand’s guide for understanding the USGBC LEED-NC V2.2 rating system and reviews the importance of Lighting and Lighting Controls in achieving a higher LEED rated building.

All six categories of LEED are reviewed with special emphasis on Energy and Atmosphere prerequisites and Credit 1 Optimize Energy Performance, and Credit 3 – Additional Commissioning. Additional topics include Indoor Environmental Quality credit 6.1 controllability of systems, and Innovation and Design credits.

GreenSense provides examples of commercial applications and reviews the prerequisites and best practice solutions to achieve higher energy savings through lighting controls. Concepts of integrated design are covered with strategies for reduced mechanical ventilation, reduced cooling capacities, and intelligent building scenarios to reduce capital expenses.

GreenSense is supported through our education program with courses such as “LEED and Lighting Controls – A Green Opportunity”, an AIA registered course for continuing education units and with our LEED-AP staff.
